(I think Leslie Anderson has it now.) I can recall walking in to Athy and seeing a nattily dressed man with a "doctor's" bag walking towards Blackpark along by the wall which bounded Plewman's field. Whoever I was with mentioned him as being the "black doctor." Since he died in 1945, when I was five years old, it must have been before this. It must have even been before he was imprisoned and became reclusive. It would be of interest to me to know when he was sent to prison. Regards from Auckland. Joe Carbery.
